foreign body removal
The doctors at Burrows Vision Clinic are licensed to remove foreign
bodies (metal, wood, fiber, plant material, etc.) from the front
surface of the eye.
Iron foreign bodies left in the eye too long will rust, which
causes the eye to not heal properly. This can be removed with
special instruments under the high magnification of a biomicroscope.
The procedures are done with the use of anesthetic drops so there
is no pain. After the removal, the eye will be treated with drops to
stop possible infection.
Some abrasions may need to be treated with a bandage contact lens
to reduce pain and speed healing.
These procedures are reimbursable by Major Medical Insurance.
